Luxury holidays in Koh Samui!
If you love the idea of Thailand but have been craving some peace and quiet, Koh Samui offers the best of both worlds. It’s the perfect place to visit for that ideal island living - hammocks in the shade of the coconut trees with white sands stretching as far as the eye can see. And, most importantly, away from the crowds!
Koh Samui is the second largest island in Thailand, and is quieter than its neighbour, Phuket. It has palm-lined beaches and coconut groves sitting on the edges of dense rainforests. Trek through the jungles or take a guided quad safari tour to see the truly wild and off-the-beaten-track areas of this gorgeous island. See mountain vistas overlooking rubber plantations and swim under majestic waterfalls!
Koh Samui is also home to Ang Thong National Marine Park, an archipelago of over 42 islands that are accessed by boat. Take a yacht tour of the marine park and its important and protected wetlands. Bob around the islands, stopping off at remote beaches for a spot of lunch, or take smaller boat trips into the vast and cavernous cave systems, watching for the brightly coloured fish who dart underneath you.
Other things to take in during your relaxing break on this outstanding island are:
- Hire jet skis and make your own way around the island, getting a different perspective of the coastline from the water. This is the perfect way to enjoy the private, tranquil beaches and coves.
- Take a Thai cooking class on an island where the soil is so fertile, you can pick your own fresh ingredients. Visit Island Organics Samui to experience farm to plate Thai food with chef Lat.
- If you’d rather that someone else does the cooking, Koh Samui is a great place to have a fantastic Thai meal by the sea, with many restaurants perched above the stunning white beaches. We love Dr.Frogs Bar & Grill overlooking Chaweng Bay!
- For spectacular views and that all-important great holiday snap, visit the viewpoint at Lad Koh, the longest beach on Koh Samui with 7 kilometres of white sand and crystal clear water.
- Visit the body of Samui’s most famous mummified monk “Loung Pordaeng”, which is on display in a glass casket at Wat Khunaram. His body has laid here since 1973 as a reminder of the transience of human existence.
Koh Samui has much to offer, from secluded beaches to jungle adventures, boat trips through bright blue waters, and fantastic fresh food. Click here to begin your adventure on this stunning paradise island and start creating unforgettable memories!
Pig Island
Koh Madsum is a little slice of paradise off the coast of Koh Samui and is home to the luckiest pigs on the planet. That’s right, Mr Kitt, the owner of a bar on this tiny island, brought home 4 pigs destined for the butcher, and now owns a small colony of 12 pigs who roam free along the beaches of Pig Island. You can visit Mr Kitt and his pig friends by boat from Koh Samui and go to feed the pigs and help support the community. If you’re wondering what they like to eat, they’re partial to a large slice of watermelon and come running to greet those who bring their favourite treats!
