unforgettable holidays in vietnam!
Vietnam is a land of staggering beauty contrasted with a devastating past which makes this place both a cultural melting pot and a lesson in history. Dotted with traditional villages and vibrant modern cities, this compelling country has plenty to see and do. Teeming with indigenous activities, outdoor experiences, and the best of city life, a visit to Vietnam is a great holiday experience for any traveller!
Ha Long Bay is a fine example of Vietnam’s stunning landscape. It’s an iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can sail among thousands of limestone karts and nearly 2000 islands. The jade waters offer total tranquillity as you sail past secluded beaches and floating villages.
Ancient temples give a clue to the Hindu religious influence here, and grand French buildings sitting on European-style tree-lined boulevards hint at its colonial past. The glass and steel engineering of cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Min show how central Asia’s financial input has pushed Vietnam into the modern age.
There are so many spectacular places to visit, buildings to explore and delicious food to enjoy in this beautiful country. Here are our favourite things to do in Vietnam:
- Explore Hanoi by motorbike. The Hanoi Backstreet Tours uses vintage Minsk motorcycles for the journey. Hop on and ride through the Old Quarter, drive across some of the city’s beautiful, famous bridges and stop at the colourful markets for a bite to eat along the way.
- Visit the train street of Hanoi, set in a narrow street squeezed between shanty houses. This world-famous train street is an incredible thing to witness. Watch people squeeze out of the way of the train when it passes twice a day.
- Wander through the streets of Hoi An, inspired by French and Asian style houses, shutters and colours. The architecture is incredible and has been perfectly maintained due to its UNESCO status.
- Take a trip to the Quan Cong Pagoda Temple, decorated in bright gold and red, the temple stands out beautifully. The temple is the perfect place to observe the sacred statues and explore the calming courtyard.
- Visit the Japanese Bridge in Hoi An, built in the late 16th century at the time of Japanese immigration, the bridge is always adorned with lanterns and looks spectacular in the evenings.
- Stop at Hang Múa Peak and climb up the 500 snaking steps to reach this awe-inspiring viewpoint. Here you'll find panoramic views of the lush green mountains, deep valleys, and waterways.

The Golden Hands Bridge
The Golden Hands Bridge in Da Nang is a truly unique experience. Walk across the strip of golden walkway which is held high up in the air with two stone hands, resembling the hands of God. The walkway is 150-metres long and seems to float high above the lush green forest which stretches upwards in front of you towards the Ba Na hills. Fun fact: this beautiful bridge is not the ancient structure it seems to be. The bridge was opened in 2018 as a tourist attraction and is an Instagram hotspot in Vietnam. A selfie here is a must!
